Who We Are

Established in 1963, Jack Skehan & Associates is a small professional tax preparation firm located along Cobbossee Stream on Bridge Street in Gardiner, Maine. Our firm has grown steadily since Jack prepared his first tax return; he’s witnessed the evolution of the income tax code from something fairly simple to the complex sets of rules we follow today.

As experts in the accounting issues and tax laws that impact our clients we serve a wide range of individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts, LLCs, and non-profit organizations by offering income tax and small business consulting. The firm’s goal is to continue providing efficient, expert tax preparation and planning solutions for businesses and individuals. With our full complement of employees we are able to service a continuously growing clientele.

We are members of several professional organizations including National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the Maine Association of Professional Accountants (MAPA). We have a great staff, which include five Enrolled Agents (EA), and an Advanced QuickBooks Pro Advisor.

Meet Our Team

Jack Skehan, EA – Founder

Jack, started this business from his Gardiner home in 1963. The 2024 filing season will be his 62^nd! Jack began his working career at his family’s business, Skehan’s Dairy. Later, he was treasurer of what eventually became Gardiner Federal CU. He owned and operated an All-Star Dairy distributorship, too.
